Where does the History Center most need assistance? - Valentine Gift Shop - While assisting Gift Shop visitors with selections and purchases from the books, porcelain, toys and other gift items, Volunteers provide a friendly face and much needed service to our patrons.
When can volunteers work at the History Center?
- Gift Shop volunteer positions are available Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. General hours for other volunteers vary and generally are available Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with some weekends as needed.
What are the benefits of volunteering at the History Center?
- Benefits include: free parking, 10% discounts in the Gift Shop and at Café Richmond , invitations to special events and educational programs and free access to the History Center Archives.

How do I apply for a volunteer position?
- Send a completed volunteer application (pdf) to the Education Assistant. Applications are accepted at any time.
