HISTORIC RICHMOnD TOURS: Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

For any tour requiring advance registration, you may cancel your reservation for any reason without charge up to 48 hours prior to the tour. If you cancel your reservation the day before or the day of the tour you will be charged the full amount. If for some reason, the Valentine Richmond History Center needs to cancel the tour, you will receive a full refund.

What if it rains/storms/snows?

All specialty bus tours will go unless road conditions are questionable. Walking tours will go in light rain, but may be cancelled at the descretion of the guide. In the case of inclement weather, please call the History Center at 804-649-0711, etc. 301 an hour before the tour to be sure.

How should I dress? What should I bring?

Dress comfortably, with appropriate walking shoes. Even with the specialty bus tours, you will do some walking, so please keep that in mind. Particularly on the walking tours, you might want to have a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, umbrella or light jacket, depending on weather conditions.

Do you offer public daily bus tours?

No. Daily bus tours of the city are available through the Richmond Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau at 804-783-7450.

Do you offer privately guided tours?
