Richmond History Gallery Public Meeting The public is invited to comment on developing themes for a new set of exhibitions referred to as the Richmond History Gallery. Join staff and architects on Thursday, July 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the History Center for a presentation and discussion. Current galleries open at 5:30 p.m. Free, but RSVP suggested: (804) 649-0711 x333.

Richmond History Makers 2010 Nominations are now closed. Honorees and their nominators will be notified in late July and publicly announced in September. Manchester: From Sister City to South Richmond a new exhibition on the history of Richmond's Manchester district, which opened on April 15th, 2010, the 100th anniversary of its annexation by the city. On view t hrough February 2011.

Waste Not Want Not: Richmond's Great Depression, 1929-1941 shows life in Richmond during the Great Depression, which lasted from October 1929 until the U.S. entered World War II. The exhibition tells this story with objects, images, ephemera and costumes from the History Center’s collection. On view through September 2010.
