Known as the birthplace of Black Capitalism, Jackson Ward also is home to a number of diverse and historic congregations. Join your guide for a walk through the ward, with stops at Sixth Mount Zion Church and 3rd Street Bethel. No reservation required. $10

New! Shockoe Bottom on a Segway

Saturday, July 18th, 12-2pm

Learn about one of the city's oldest and most interesting neighborhoods while on a Segway scooter. Tour rides past Main Street Station, the Farmer's Market, Tobacco Row and a number of eateries, businesses and residential buildings that dot this former transportation and commercial hub. $50. new exhibition: oregon hill

Disciples of Vulcan: Examining the Oregon Hill Community, a NEW exhibition about the history of Richmond's Oregon Hill neighborhood, runs through September in the Stern Gallery (lower level). Photography and ephemera curated from the History Center collection. See the exhibition Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $8. (Sundays are Pay What You Can!)
