Calling All Girl Scouts!
Come to the Richmond History Center to work on your badges.
We currently have four fabulous programs from which to choose:

Richmond History Center Exhibits

Yarn and Fabric
Arts Activity #3: Famous Fabric Masterpieces-
View some of the History Center's Costume and Textiles Collection.

Activity #9: Fabrics of the Past – Look at some different fabrics from our collection of items, which were used in the past.

Both activities and a tour of the History Center's Galleries where fabric arts from long ago can be seen are included. Time: 1 1/2 hours; Cost: $5 per girl, $50 minimum, 1 chaperone for every five girls included free of charge. Additional adults $4 each.

Folk Arts
Activity #2: A Picture Tells a Thousand Thoughts – Take a look at some of the History Center's old photographs

Activity #3: Tell a Story – Share some old time stories.

Activity #6: What Toys Tell Us – View some reproduction, old-style toys and play some old-fashioned games.

Activity #10: Time Travel – Learn how things were used in the past using real and reproduction artifacts.

A selection of any two activities is included. Time: 1 1/2 hours; Cost: $5 per girl, $50 minimum, 1 chaperone for every five girls included free of charge. Additional adults $4 each.

Local Lore
Activity #2: It's All on the Maps – Look at old and new maps of Richmond.

Activity #4: Tour Your Community – Take the tour "Ancients in the Neighborhood," and see cool old buildings around your city.

Activity #7: Take a Trip – Complete a tour of our gallery "Settlement to Streetcar Suburbs" which is an exhibit on Richmond's history.

A selection of any two activities is included. Time: 1 1/2 hours; Cost: $5 per girl, $50 minimum, 1 chaperone for every five girls included free of charge. Additional adults $4 each.

Arts in 3-D
Activity #2: Mold It
– Try your hand at clay modeling.

Activity #6: All Around the Town – Use pictures of Richmond sculptures to discuss 3-D art.

Activity #9: It's Mobile – Creat your own wire mobile.

Activity #10: Wire It – Use wire to create a unique sculpture.

A selection of any two activities and a tour of Edward B. Valentine's Sculpture Studio at the History Center is included. Time: 2 hours; Cost: $8 per girl, $80 minimum, 1 chaperone for every five girls included free of charge. Additional adults $4 each.
