Today’s events serve as tomorrow’s history, yet sometimes even the most powerful success stories and hard-working individuals go unnoticed. It’s time to publicly celebrate these accomplishments!

Each year, the Valentine Richmond History Center celebrates everyday citizens and outstanding organizations that make significant contributions to the greater Richmond region.

Public nominations are accepted in May and June, selections are announced around Labor Day, and a gala celebration occurs in October.

Richmond History Makers nominations are accepted in five categories of distinction:

• Creating Quality Educational Opportunities
• Demonstrating Innovative Solutions
• Fostering Regional Cooperation
• Improving Racial Equality and Social Justice
• Promoting Stronger Communities
